‘I feel like I need something bigger from life’ – UNFOLDING FUTURE
For this new series, I photographed the paper planes made by my 8-year-old son. Out of fascination for their seemingly endless variations, I captured close to 100 of them, all different. By capturing them out of context, against a plane background, I invite you to see, really see, the beauty in these little, imperfect everyday creations.
The inspiration for this series came at a moment in my life where I was experiencing no sense of direction, a void. What does the future look like if there’s no plan? Can we dance with the unknown, fly into the future using the wings of our imagination, I wonder. The series is about creating from emptiness, by surrendering to it and choosing joy and curiosity over ‘what if’ and ‘I should’.
